From Italy with love
After 2 years in the UK and now in Florence, Italy as a Resident Artist with Mascarade Opera Foundation, Sophie Sparrow is home for a short visit and bringing her international training and performance to the Whangārei Anglican Church on Friday 9th December at 7.00pm.
Sophie will be joined by the magnificent Juan Kim on piano, Whangārei's very own Kawiti Waetford, and up and coming tenor Ridge Ponini.
Tickets include a complimentary glass of wine from 6.30pm, alongside an evening of opera, song, and musical theatre. It is sure to be a night full of joy and celebration leading you into the festive season.

Poulenc Double Bill 6 – 28 August 2022
Following his success with the Ravel Double Bill, director Laurent Pelly takes on two more contrasting French masterpieces, La Voix humaine and Les Mamelles de Tirésias. Conducted by Robin Ticciati.

Sophie has been selected as one of the ten semi-finalists in the 2021 Kathleen Ferrier Awards and will be performing with pianist Harry Rylance.
One of the most prestigious competition in the UK, The Kathleen Ferrier Awards, was founded in 1953 in memory of the much-loved contralto . It has continued to provide outstanding talented young singers each year with the opportunity of making a start in what is a most difficult and demanding career.
Royal Over-Seas League Annual Music Competition Overseas Final

This evening has performances from non-UK Commonwealth musicians chosen to compete for ROSL Overseas Award who have performed to high calibre throughout the competition and celebrates the Commonwealth heritage of ROSL.
Sophie performed in the ROSL Vocal Section Final on Tuesday 21st Sept and was chosen to be in the Overseas Award.
